Responsibilities:
- Conduct in-depth analysis of customer account data, on-chain and off-chain transactions, account attributes, and related information to evaluate the nature of the activity and identify relevant entities when necessary.
- Perform comprehensive open-source research to gather crucial data for investigations or due diligence projects.
- Recognize patterns in unusual or suspicious activities to map out networks of malicious actors.
- Document the research process, outlining steps taken, reviewed data sources, and drawn conclusions.
- Collaborate with other teams to offer assistance and exchange information as needed.
- Provide feedback to relevant departments based on analyses to enhance the company's security framework.
Requirements:
- Solid experience in analyzing customer account data, on-chain and off-chain transactions, account characteristics, and other pertinent information to comprehend activity nature and identify associated entities when required.
- Proficient at conducting detailed open-source research to uncover key data for advancing investigations or due diligence efforts.
- Adept at identifying trends in abnormal or malicious activities to map out bad actor networks.
- Capable of documenting research methods, steps followed, data sources reviewed, and conclusions drawn.
- Skilled at collaborating with other teams to provide support and gather necessary information.
- Ability to offer feedback to relevant departments to improve the company's security measures.
Good to have:
- Strong network within national/regional law enforcement agencies.
- Proficiency in Portuguese, in addition to English, to effectively engage with local and international partners.
- Familiarity with blockchain analytics and utilizing relevant tools or manually tracking funds via block explorers.
- Knowledge of open-source investigations (OSINT) and/or due diligence practices.
- Experience in researching and analyzing cybercrime, especially of a financial nature, and familiarity with cybercriminal organizations and tactics.
- Basic understanding of DNS and IP address analysis.
