Graphic Designer
Description
A technical artist is needed to collaborate closely with artists and programmers to optimize assets and pipelines. The role involves implementing technical art features, developing tools and workflows, and debugging tools and processes.
Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain advanced production pipelines and workflows
- Enhance tools for artists to streamline production work
- Collaborate with Art Leads, Technical Directors, and QA to ensure assets meet technical and artistic standards
- Employ the latest tools and techniques to improve graphic workload efficiency
- Share best practices, provide training, and mentor team members on tool usage
- Integrate, validate, and optimize graphic data in the engine, utilizing scripts as necessary
- Address graphic bugs based on priorities and offer support to fellow artists
- Create and update comprehensive documentation on tools, processes, and engine limitations
- Lead QA efforts to validate bug-free and ready-to-ship assets
- Enforce Tech Art constraints for top-quality visuals and performance
- Optimize and profile art assets for peak performance on various platforms, especially next-gen systems
Qualifications:
- Extensive knowledge of game development encompassing Modeling & Texturing, Scripting/Tools Development, Lighting, Shaders, VFX, Rigging, and Animation
- Proficiency in game engines, particularly Unreal
- Experience with Source Control tools like Git, Perforce, Mercurial
- Strong technical background in art production and workflows, with programming skills
- Familiarity with UI Development for Tools is a plus
- Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and team collaboration experience
- Proficiency in 3D development software such as 3DS Max, Maya, Blender
- Willingness to embrace and apply new next-gen technologies
- Ability to handle pressure, acquire new skills quickly, and build strong team relationships
- Cross-disciplinary collaboration experience between artists, programmers, and technical directors
- Strong organizational abilities and adept at managing complex workflows
- Innovative problem-solving skills
Location: 100% remote
