As a key member of the Legal, Trading Solutions group, you will play a pivotal role within the institutional trading solutions business by delivering strategic legal counsel on new products and features. Your responsibilities will include offering expert legal guidance concerning spot, margin, derivatives, and API trading activities for Anchorage Digital's OTC principal trading entity. Additionally, you will act as a trusted advisor on money transmission regulations, state lending laws, CFTC derivatives rules, and SEC securities regulations.
Your role will entail drafting and evaluating compliance manuals, policies, procedures, disclosures, and risk factors pertaining to trading and lending activities. You will also engage in reviewing, drafting, and negotiating various trading, lending, and derivative contracts such as ISDA, Master Lending Agreements, Master Purchase and Sale Agreements, and Prime brokerage agreements.

Technical Skills:
- In-depth comprehension of laws and regulations relevant to spot, margin, derivatives, platform trading, and prime brokerage for digital assets.
- Proficiency in creating, drafting, and negotiating a broad spectrum of agreements including digital asset trading agreements, prime brokerage agreements, collateral agreements, margin agreements, loan agreements, settlement terms, ISDAs, confirmations, risk factors, and more.
Complexity and Impact of Work:
- Collaborate closely with the Associate General Counsel for trading solutions to bolster the trading solutions business.
- Develop and manage contract templates, work alongside Compliance to formulate guidelines, policies, playbook procedures, and provide staff training individuals to champion independent projects and processes.
Organizational Knowledge:
- Sound understanding of various market infrastructures, encompassing first-hand knowledge on crypto trading venues, prime brokers, custodians, and payment systems.
- Proficient in communicating pertinent legal issues to internal stakeholders to ensure widespread dissemination of knowledge to relevant teams.
- Ability to prioritize work aligned with company objectives and effectively communicate the rationale behind tasks.
Communication and Influence:
- Foster strong bonds with the trading solutions team, legal and compliance counterparts to foster collaboration, tackle legal challenges, structure intricate agreements, and increase efficiency.
- Proficient communication skills both internally and externally.
- Capable of client-facing interactions while collaborating with cross-functional teams on multiple internal projects.
Qualifications:
- Organized individual with a proactive approach, acute attention to detail, and capability to deliver quality work in a dynamic, high-volume work setting.
- Proficient in regulatory frameworks related to diverse digital asset business models, along with the ability to apply conventional financial legal principles to resolve complex business requirements for institutional clients.
- Minimum of 8 years' transactional experience encompassing reviewing various financial transaction agreements, primarily lending agreements, prime brokerage agreements, ISDA/CSA, and trade confirmations.
- Previous experience in a fast-paced startup or early-stage company is advantageous—self-driven, proactive individual with a positive outlook and a readiness to tackle any tasks regardless of scope.
- Proficient in fostering creativity and proposing practical, commercial solutions.
- Active membership in the NY state bar.
