Responsibilities
- Develop and manage compliance policies and processes specific to Mexico.
- Ensure continuous monitoring and reporting of compliance activities.
- Coordinate various regulatory filings in foreign jurisdictions.
- Conduct internal compliance policy reviews, including ongoing assessments, staff training, and audits.
- Provide recommendations to enhance the organization's systems, controls, and processes.
- Maintain monitoring registers and other necessary records to demonstrate compliance efforts.
- Assist in ensuring overall compliance with the regulations set by Mexico's Financial Intelligence Unit and other pertinent authorities.
Requirements
- Demonstrated interest or experience in the fintech industry.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in risk, fraud, compliance, AML, or regulatory roles, with a preference for experience in regulated financial services businesses in compliance or legal roles.
- Professional certification in compliance risk management.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, global environment while collaborating effectively with teams in multiple locations.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to offer effective counsel.
- Proficiency in performing risk assessments, periodic reviews, and enhanced due diligence.
- Familiarity with compliance applications and software.
- Proficiency in conducting studies to ensure regulatory compliance and communicating with the Financial Intelligence Unit.
- Proactive, diligent team player.
- Must be a native Spanish speaker and fluent in English.
