Job Overview
CleanSpark is a leading data center developer that oversees a substantial portfolio of power, land, and data centers in the United States utilizing competitively priced energy. The Associate focusing on Onsite Generation & Power Origination aids in conducting asset and market research, managing outreach to potential partners, monitoring the opportunity pipeline, and conducting financial analysis on site-specific power generation opportunities.
The Associate, under the guidance of the Senior Manager, assists in identifying and prioritizing generation assets and partnerships with power producers, along with facilitating the progression of opportunities through analysis and presentation material development. This role demands analytical acumen, a flair for commercial insights, and adeptness in managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed research on generation assets, gas infrastructure, and power market fundamentals to ascertain outbound targets.
- Develop and update lists of targeted generation assets, independent power producers, and power-producER partners; assist in outreach initiatives.
- Oversee the outbound opportunity pipeline, handling tracking, status updates, and data management.
- Provide support in assessing feasibility across land, gas supply, water, permitting, and interconnection aspects.
- Contribute to financial analysis, such as modeling $/MWh and $/kW-month, and conducting scenario and sensitivity analyses.
- Prepare opportunity analyses, market assessments, and presentation materials for leadership evaluation.
- Collaborate with Site Origination and Utility & Energy teams on joint due diligence efforts.
- Fulfill any other assigned tasks as needed.

Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Energy, or related fields is preferred. Relevant professional experience, industry training, or equivalent combinations of education will also be considered.
- Possess two to five years or more of experience in energy, power markets, infrastructure investment banking or private equity, project development, or market research.
- Strong proficiency in analytical capabilities and financial modeling.
- Ability to translate technical, commercial, and market data into clear recommendations.
- Excellent organizational skills and the capacity to autonomously manage multiple priorities.
- Must be willing to travel across the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with gas-fired or onsite generation, power purchase agreements, or tolling structures.
- Exposure to data centers or extensive energy demands.
- Experience with CRM platforms or project tracking systems.
This role offers an annual salary range of $80,000 - $110,000. Responsibilities may involve operating a company vehicle or traveling between different work sites; thus, candidates must meet CleanSpark's vehicle insurance policy requirements.
