THE ROLE

As a Principal Software Engineer at Eigen Labs, you will take the lead in overseeing the offchain components of EigenPOD, which are smart contracts that enable users to monitor and manage balance and withdrawal statuses on EigenLayer. Your responsibilities will involve driving the success of EigenLayer's native restaking solutions, as well as collaborating with the protocol team to seamlessly integrate offchain systems with EigenLayer.

Native Restaking constitutes a significant portion of our Total Value Locked (TVL) on the mainnet, offering stimulating opportunities to manage complex and mission-critical projects. WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Act as a technical expert for demanding projects, enhancing productivity and effectiveness through the sharing of your extensive knowledge and expertise.
• Collaborate with company leaders to influence strategies, define product roadmaps, and shape platform experiences.
• Develop code to validate beacon chain events and design APIs for efficient web application consumption.
• Implement innovative tools like zero knowledge proofs and batch processing to optimize cost efficiency and enhance customer experiences.
• Keep updated on Ethereum Improvement Proposals (EIPs) relevant to native restaking.
• Evaluate and work with vendors to implement and utilize their solutions effectively, ensuring data quality and uptime, and providing feedback.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field coupled with over 7 years of experience in backend distributed systems.
• At least 2 years of full lifecycle development utilizing Go language.
• Hands-on experience with AWS cloud technologies and a thorough understanding of the Ethereum protocol, Ethereum staking, and beacon chain.
• Demonstrated leadership in backend development projects with a focus on web2 components and API design that have been successfully deployed.
• Proficiency in working on highly scalable and dynamic software systems.

NICE TO HAVES

• Previous exposure to Ethereum consensus clients or other blockchain protocols.
• Strong knowledge of smart contracts alongside expertise in native restaking and liquid staking.

The annual base salary for this role in locations where legally required is in the range of $250,000 to $300,000. In addition to monetary compensation, Eigen Labs offers various benefits such as medical, dental, and vision plans, 401k, unlimited paid time off, and 12 weeks of fully paid maternity and paternity leave.
