Responsibilities:

  • Lead efforts for regulatory approval, authorization, and licensing within various LATAM jurisdictions, involving comprehensive legal analysis and application management.
  • Develop and execute Binance’s strategic regulatory approach customized for the LATAM market.
  • Collaborate closely with business teams to facilitate the introduction and expansion of new products and services in LATAM, ensuring alignment with regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Cultivate and sustain productive relationships with regulatory bodies and government entities across LATAM.
  • Stay updated on regulatory changes and trends in the LATAM cryptocurrency and financial sectors and communicate their implications effectively.
  • Offer clear and practical legal counsel for navigating the complex regulatory landscapes in LATAM.
  • Play an active role in molding Binance's regulatory strategies and decisions in the region with a hands-on approach.

Requirements:

  • Licensed to practice law in one or more LATAM jurisdictions.
  • At least 6 years of post-qualification experience, with a strong background in financial institutions and regulatory affairs in LATAM.
  • Blend of experience from a reputable law firm and in-house legal roles within LATAM.
  • Proficiency in financial products relevant to LATAM markets, such as spot trading, margin trading, futures, options, and payment channels.
  • Demonstrated interest in and understanding of the cryptocurrency industry and its regulatory framework in LATAM.
  • Prior experience in managing financial product cycles from inception to launch in LATAM is advantageous.
  • Exceptional team collaboration skills for working across diverse teams effectively.
  • Ability to offer practical legal advice in complex and evolving regulatory environments.
  • A proactive, leadership-oriented mindset for influencing strategic decisions.
  • Proficient in written and spoken English, with fluency in Spanish or Portuguese for effective engagement with local and international stakeholders.
