Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled Release/Deployment Engineer to take charge of the operational aspects of releases across Jito's validator, block-building, RPC, simulator, and infrastructure systems. Your role will be crucial in ensuring smooth execution of release strategies and maintaining the reliability of our infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead software upgrades and releases for Jito infrastructure including testnet upgrades, mainnet canaries, staged rollouts, and patches.
- Oversee the end-to-end release process from preflight validation to deployment, monitoring, rollback preparation, and post-release assessments.
- Maintain accurate release playbooks, runbooks, deployment checklists, and rollback procedures.
- Ensure version and configuration consistency across all environments, services, and repositories.
- Monitor releases in real-time using various monitoring tools and dashboards.
- Contribute to enhancing CI/CD, automation, and tooling processes gradually.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 4 years experience in release engineering, SRE, DevOps, infrastructure engineering, or similar roles.
- Strong Linux systems and production operations background.
- Proficiency in Linux production deployment workflows, canary rollouts, rollback procedures, incident response, and operational monitoring.
- Familiarity with Git-based release workflows, version control, changelogs, branching, and cross-repository coordination.
Preferred Skills
- Previous experience in operating blockchain, validator, low-latency, or high-stakes distributed systems.
- Knowledge of Solana validator operations, Anza/Agave, Jito-Solana, RPC infrastructure, or block-building systems.
- Familiarity with Rust programming language and other essential infrastructure tooling like Ansible and Terraform.
- Expertise in observability systems such as Grafana, Prometheus, InfluxDB, etc.
- Experience with datacenter-related operational tasks like firmware updates, networking changes, or bare-metal fleet upgrades.

Salary Range: $180,000 - $200,000 per year
