Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough code reviews and testing design assessments.
- Collaborate with backend teams to develop robust testing strategies, ensuring comprehensive coverage of critical business processes and advocating for a test-first approach.
- Review automated test scenarios for backend services, emphasizing business logic validation.
- Evaluate backend codebases for testability and scenario completeness, providing constructive feedback to enhance quality practices and maintain consistency across teams.
- Manage and execute test cases for backend services, analyzing results and reporting on testing metrics and defects to facilitate ongoing quality enhancements.
- Lead the planning and implementation of performance testing strategies to ensure the scalability of backend services under high loads.
- Assist in security testing efforts, including API vulnerability assessments and data protection validations, to fortify overall system reliability.
- Develop, refine, and update test frameworks, tools, and technologies across the organization to uphold high-quality standards consistently.
- Act as a technical liaison between QA and backend engineering teams, ensuring seamless interpretation of testing requirements across various technology stacks and fostering a culture of excellence in quality throughout the organization.
Requirements
- Proficiency in understanding Ruby on Rails and Golang codebases, with practical implementation experience being advantageous.
- Strong grasp of backend architecture patterns, microservices, and testing challenges in distributed systems.
- Familiarity with common technologies like PostgreSQL, Kafka, RabbitMQ, and Redis.
- Ability to translate functional requirements and use cases into effective test plans and cases for backend systems.
- Customer-focused mindset with strong problem-solving abilities and analytical skills.
- Experience with performance testing tools and methodologies to design and interpret load and stress tests.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration within technical teams.
- Passion for enhancing code quality by engaging with development teams proactively.
- Expertise in automating RESTful and WebSocket API testing, utilizing frameworks such as Pytest and tools like Postman or equivalent.
- Proficiency in using API testing tools like Postman for validating backend services.
