Key Responsibilities:

As a Senior Counsel reporting to the Assistant General Counsel, Product and Regulatory, your primary focus will involve leading and optimizing legal coverage for the Circle Account and a diverse range of digital asset products. Collaborating with dynamic product teams, you will drive initiatives related to crypto assets and blockchain technology to shape pioneering financial solutions for businesses and navigate regulatory changes affecting stablecoins and digital assets.

Main Areas of Focus:

  • Provide comprehensive legal guidance throughout the product life cycle of Circle Account and digital asset offerings, spanning innovations like stablecoins, NFTs, and decentralized finance.
  • Offer counsel on adhering to domestic and international laws and regulations concerning digital assets and virtual asset service providers, with a focus on global expansion and compliance.
  • Contribute to refining processes, protocols, and performance metrics within the Legal division to enhance legal services' efficiency.
  • Mitigate legal risks pragmatically, devising strategic solutions, fostering partnerships, and seizing opportunities.
  • Stay abreast of developments in the cryptocurrency and digital currency space to ensure proficient coverage of product areas.

What We Look for in Candidates:

  • Possession of a Juris Doctor degree and active law license in at least one state without disciplinary issues.
  • Over 5 years of experience as in-house counsel advising product teams or leading regulatory matters, particularly within the fintech or institutional financial sectors.
  • A fervor for financial technology and demonstrated expertise in cryptocurrency or blockchain affairs.
  • Familiarity with the global AML/CFT regulatory framework for digital assets.
  • Team-oriented mindset, with a penchant for learning and mentoring.
  • Exposure to regulated environments or governmental bodies.

Base Salary Range: $180,000 - $237,500

Annual Expected Bonus: 15%
