Your Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Assistant General Counsel, Product and Regulatory, as Senior Counsel, you will lead legal coverage for Circle Account and digital asset products. You will collaborate with product teams to utilize blockchain and crypto assets, shaping the future of financial accounts for businesses and developing regulatory strategies in alignment with the evolving landscape.

Projects You'll Lead:

• Offer comprehensive product guidance for Circle Account, digital asset products, and services, including cutting-edge blockchain innovations like stablecoins, NFTs, and decentralized finance.
• Provide expert counsel on compliance with US and international regulations pertaining to digital assets and virtual asset services, focusing on global expansion and licensing.
• Collaborate with the Legal team to establish effective processes, procedures, and metrics, enhancing legal services.
• Mitigate legal risks through business-focused solutions, enhancing partnerships and seizing opportunities.
• Stay informed on developments in crypto and digital currencies to maintain robust coverage in your product area.

Your Qualifications:

• Possession of a Juris Doctor degree and an active law license in good standing in at least one state.
• Over 5 years of in-house legal counsel experience advising product teams or leading regulatory coverage, ideally in fintech or institutional finance.
• Demonstrated passion for financial technology, with a track record covering cryptocurrency or blockchain legal matters.
• Familiarity with global AML/CFT regulatory requirements for digital assets.
• Strong team player with a sense of humor, enthusiasm for learning, and mentoring capabilities.
• Experience in regulated environments or with governmental bodies.
• Rapid learning ability to support diverse business and technology domains.
• Proficiency in Google Suite, Slack, and Apple MacOS preferred.

Benefits and Compensation:

This position offers day-one PERM sponsorship for qualified candidates. Starting pay is based on factors like experience, skills, qualifications, and business needs, with varying compensation ranges by location. Package includes competitive base pay, bonus opportunity, equity, medical, dental, vision, 401(k), discretionary vacation policy, paid sick leave, and holidays.
