Description
The candidate for this role will be a crucial member of a newly established Data Science team with a focus on conducting in-depth research within the crypto market and blockchain space. The ideal applicant should possess expertise in handling large-scale data processing and have a clear understanding of the data science workflow. This position presents an exciting opportunity for the right individual to significantly influence the research direction and efficiency of a recently formed initiative within a thriving proprietary trading entity.
Responsibilities
- Data Sourcing: Recognize top-notch and pertinent data to bolster research goals, and then formulate respective tickets for the data team.
- Data Accessibility and Usability: Construct and manage tools and platforms to enhance visualization and exploration capabilities for the research crew.
- Identification of Patterns and Trends: Implement statistical and Machine Learning methodologies to evaluate historical data, pinpointing patterns and trends suitable for trading strategies and research units.
- Research and Development: Keep abreast of the latest developments in data science and the crypto sector by actively monitoring research, industry publications, and participating in relevant gatherings.
- Benchmarking: Routinely assess and enhance existing models by evaluating their performance against cutting-edge methodologies.
- Performance Metrics: Devise metrics and dashboards for monitoring the performance of trading strategies, individual symbols, and the comprehensive portfolio (comprising PnL attribution).
Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in the data science field, with at least 2 years in leadership roles.
- A Master's degree in EE, CS, Physics, Mathematics, or a relevant discipline.
- Proficiency in large-scale data processing and analysis.
- Strong command of Python programming.
- Proficient in employing machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and scikit-learn.
- Proficient in model development and forecasting, particularly in time series analysis such as NLP.
- Proficient in formulating and conveying model architecture with a strong focus on code quality for efficient system design.
- Knowledge of the crypto industry is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Experience in finance and trading is beneficial though not compulsory.
