Primary Responsibilities:

As the initial Data Science recruit focusing on Machine Learning at Circle, your primary objectives revolve around addressing pivotal issues: early detection of potentially suspicious transactions and entities, and optimizing reserve management across accounts to mitigate systemic risks. Furthermore, you will conduct in-depth research to gain insights, visually represent data findings, and explore varied business facets. While the main focus lies within machine learning applications, occasional projects may require leveraging data science for holistic problem-solving outside the realm of machine learning.

Key Responsibilities:

• Spearhead the development, enhancement, and upkeep of models targeting transaction and entity anomaly identification and reserve optimization.
• Devise solutions for machine learning challenges of high strategic value to Circle.
• Beyond machine learning, analyze data, define metrics, and anticipate data needs for strategic stakeholders, while building robust data models to support dashboards and data-driven products.
• Develop models to illuminate customer behavior trends, extract actionable insights to guide product innovations.
• Engage in reporting findings, conducting experiments, and advising stakeholder decisions across different organizational levels.
• Engage in blockchain data analysis to dissect trading behaviors, incentives, and the overarching role of USDC within the cryptocurrency landscape.

Candidate Profile:

• Over 5 years of experience in data analysis or data science, with a minimum of 3 years dedicated to solving machine learning challenges, preferably in areas like KYC practices, sanctions monitoring, fraud detection, treasury management, or crypto/blockchain analytics.
• Proficiency in SQL and a programming language like R or Python is essential for data wrangling and analyses.
• Thorough understanding of machine learning concepts and applications with a track record of developing operational machine learning models.
• Sharp analytical acumen, exceptional problem-solving capability, and meticulous attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills to translate complex insights for both technical and non-technical audiences.

Additional Details:

• Suitable candidates are eligible for day-one PERM sponsorship.
• Our compensation packages are designed comprehensively, coherent with varied factors such as expertise, proficiency, qualifications, and organizational requisites. Salary ranges may fluctuate based on geographical location.
• Salary Range: $147,500 - $195,000
• Annual Bonus Target: 12.5%
• Benefits: Equity, medical, dental, vision, 401(k), discretionary vacation policy, 10 days annual paid sick leave, and 11 paid holidays in the U.S.
