Responsibilities:
As Circle's primary Data Scientist specializing in Machine Learning, your focus will initially encompass two critical objectives: identifying potentially illicit transactions and actors and optimizing reserve balancing to minimize systemic risk within the company. - Engage with product, treasury, fellow data scientists, and data engineering teams to comprehensively comprehend these challenges, prepare model inputs, create precise and timely models, integrate models into production, and monitor their efficacy.
- Explore and address other valuable machine learning challenges beneficial to Circle's operations.
- When not focused on machine learning models, spearhead data identification, metric definition, and analytical requirements for business partners, establishing and managing data pipelines and models supporting dashboards and data products of exceptional quality.
- Conduct in-depth analyses and model-building to grasp customer behavior patterns, extract pivotal insights influencing product decisions.
- Present business status, experiment outcomes, and insights-based recommendations to a broad audience and senior leadership.
- Collect and analyze blockchain data to interpret trading activities, incentives, and USDC’s integration in the broader crypto ecosystem.
Expected Attributes:
- At least 5 years of experience in data analysis or data science, with a minimum of 3 years dedicated to solving machine learning challenges, preferably in areas such as KYC, sanctions detection, anti-fraud detection, treasury management, or crypto/blockchain data science.
- Proficiency in SQL and one programming language (e.g., R or Python) for data manipulation and analysis.
- Deep expertise in both theoretical and applied machine learning.
- Track record in designing and deploying production-ready machine learning models.
