About The Role
We are seeking an innovative Senior Engineering Manager to lead the Solutions team at Pagoda. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in shaping the future of Web3 by identifying and implementing essential features and solutions for the ecosystem. Leading the team in addressing challenges across the NEAR Protocol stack, spanning from low-level optimizations to proto services and groundbreaking protocol-level innovations to drive the adoption of new products and services.
Responsibilities include overseeing a team of talented engineers, cultivating a collaborative and high-output environment, as well as contributing to strategic decision-making, resource management, and ensuring the successful delivery of pivotal features that positively influence the NEAR ecosystem's growth. We are looking for an individual who values taking ownership, adept at balancing technical depth with strategic vision, and enthusiastic about pioneering the next phase of the internet.
Key Responsibilities
- Formulate and drive the technical vision for the Solutions team aligned with Pagoda's strategic objectives.
- Supervise the design and progression of the technical architecture for critical features and solutions throughout the NEAR Protocol stack.
- Lead the team in tackling intricate technical hurdles, fostering innovation and problem-solving culture.
- Engage in code reviews to maintain code quality and adherence to security best practices.
- Recruit, mentor, and nurture a team of high-performing engineers, providing support and avenues for development.
- Establish clear goals, offer regular feedback, and conduct performance evaluations for continuous enhancement.
- Cultivate a collaborative atmosphere that encourages open communication, knowledge exchange, and teamwork within the Solutions team and across the organization.
- Define project scope, timelines, and resource assignment in alignment with business goals and priorities.
- Ensure successful project executions by managing dependencies, addressing risks, and ensuring punctual delivery of high-quality features and solutions.
- Monitor and report on vital performance indicators such as project progression, team productivity, and impact on the NEAR ecosystem.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to gather feedback, grasp user requirements, and identify areas for growth and innovation.
- Contribute to shaping the product roadmap by aligning engineering initiatives with the long-term vision for the NEAR ecosystem.
- Effectively communicate with senior leadership by providing routine updates on project advancement, risks, and opportunities.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience leading and supervising engineering teams, predominantly in a fast-paced, tech-oriented environment.
- Proven track record in recruiting, mentoring, and developing highly skilled engineering teams.
- Deep comprehension of software development principles, architectures, and best practices.
- Proficiency in systems-level languages like Rust (preferred) or similar low-level languages (C, C++, Go).
- Ability to craft and implement a technical vision cohesive with broader business objectives.
- Comfortable in making high-level architectural decisions and guiding technical roadmaps.
- Effective communicator capable of articulating technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders alike.
- Experienced in fostering collaboration and building robust relationships with product managers, executives, and other cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated history of delivering high-quality products/services within set timelines and budget constraints.
- Ability to work proficiently in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities.
- Aptitude for fast learning and embracing new technologies and methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in NEAR Protocol or other blockchain platforms considered advantageous.
- Acquaintance with web3 technologies and concepts (e.g., smart contracts, decentralized applications).
- Experience contributing to open-source projects, particularly in the blockchain sector, highly valued.
- Familiarity with blockchain technology and distributed systems.

Compensation
The base salary range for this role is $212,500 - $250,000. Please note that these figures are reflective of the minimum and maximum range across all US locations and do not encompass bonuses, incentives, or benefits. Compensation may vary based on numerous factors including level, relevant skills, and work location. For non-US-based candidates, compensatory considerations specific to your geographic location will apply and can be detailed by your assigned recruiter during the hiring process.
