Senior Product Manager, Security

We believe Ethereum has the potential to solve some of humanity’s most crucial coordination issues. Since our initial inception as a research group, we have sought to scale both its technology and values.

At present, the most pressing bottleneck to the growth of Ethereum is its performance and scalability. We are building the most elegant solution to this problem. We do this in the open (under an MIT open source license) because we believe in open source innovation and its ability to accelerate growth.

OP Labs is building Optimism mainnet, and by extension, the infrastructure that powers all OP-Stack chains. We are improving Ethereum’s performance by orders of magnitude and donating the profits from doing so to funding Ethereum public goods. By operating as a Public Benefit Corporation, OP Labs can align its incentives with the public good and take positive-sum steps toward a sustainable future for the internet.

We’re looking for an experienced, security-focused PM to help us scale Ethereum.

At Optimism, security is one of our core product features. In this role, you will support our growing Security team to create secure practices, frameworks, and products that benefit our customers. You will prioritize, design, and ship secure protocol and governance features as well as state-of-the-art monitoring and alerting systems to defend the Superchain.

As a PM at OP Labs, you are fully empowered to identify, prioritize, develop, and ship impactful products to our customers and ecosystem. 

What are the role responsibilities?

• Lead core security and protocol initiatives from ideation all the way to delivery
• Go deep on highly technical products (e.g., fault proofs) to propose roll-out, monitoring, and success strategies
• Improve chain deployment and upgrade tooling to scale the Superchain to 1,000s of interoperable chains
• Lead UXR with infrastructure partners, the Optimism Security Council, and chain operators to understand security and usability needs
• Collaborate with a team of world-class security and smart contract engineers

What skills do you bring?

• 3+ years experience building product in highly adversarial environments
• Ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Proven track record of designing and improving operational processes to increase efficiency
• Deep strategic thinking coupled with clear, pithy writing
