Job Summary: BitGo is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Prime Engineering team, focusing on the development of new features and applications for enterprise clients. The Prime team's goal is to enhance BitGo's digital assets Prime Broker capabilities for businesses.
This role primarily operates remotely, with an expectation for candidates within a reasonable commuting distance to the office to attend on Wednesdays.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement robust APIs, libraries, and services to support financial services such as clearing, settlement, digital asset lending, trading, and liquidity.
- Lead the development and scalability of features, overseeing the lifecycle from inception to deployment and integration.
- Facilitate visibility and documentation of functionality to various stakeholders including UI, third-party developers, and internal/external tooling.
- Collaborate closely with engineering teams to ensure alignment on technical requirements and maintain work quality standards.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to fellow engineers through code reviews and knowledge sharing.
Skills & Qualifications:
Required:
- 5+ years of back-end, server-side software development experience
- Strong problem-solving skills, algorithm design capabilities, and proficiency in complexity analysis
- Proficiency in server-side languages such as TypeScript/Node.js
- Expertise with SQL databases like Postgres or MySQL
- Strong background in RESTful API design
- Experience with unit and functional testing, as well as debugging
- Familiarity with microservices and service-oriented architectures
- Proficiency in Git workflow, branching methodologies, code review and CI tools
- Ability to work independently in fast-paced environments and participate in on-call support rotations
Preferred:
- Background in Financial Services or Financial Technology
- Experience in asynchronous programming and functional programming
- Knowledge of financial accounting systems like general ledger and bookkeeping functions
- Familiarity with digital asset trading, lending, or wallets
- Full-stack development abilities, including experience with React
- Expertise in large-scale, real-time, and distributed application development
- Experience engaging with clients, business partners, and stakeholders
- Strong interest and understanding of cryptocurrencies and the blockchain industry

Note: Depending on your location and experience level, the average compensation for this role ranges between $165,000 - $210,000 USD base salary, with additional benefits including equity, performance bonuses, health insurance, and more.
