Senior Software Engineer - Custody

BitGo, a prominent digital asset solutions provider, offers custody, wallets, staking, trading, financing, and settlement services using regulated cold storage. Note: This role mandates full-time on-site presence at our San Francisco office for enhanced team collaboration and innovative problem-solving initiatives.

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Custody team and contribute to building resilient, robust services that facilitate customers in securely storing and accessing their cryptocurrencies while meeting global compliance requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Design and create scalable, well-abstracted, and robust APIs, libraries, and services to empower our API-centric platform.
• Take charge of functionality and scalability features from inception to deployment and integration with customers.
• Document and expose functionality to UI, third-party developers, and internal and external tools.
• Collaborate with diverse teams to conceptualize, design, and implement new features.
• Develop clean, efficient, and maintainable code.
• Ensure application performance, quality, and responsiveness.
• Identify and resolve bottlenecks and bugs.
• Continuously explore and implement new technologies to enhance development efficiency.
• Participate in code reviews and promote a culture of ongoing improvement.
• Engage with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to refine product requirements.
• Provide mentorship to peers across the engineering team through code reviews and best practices education.

Skills & Experience:

Required:

• Minimum 6 years of backend and server-side development experience.
• Proficiency in algorithm design, problem-solving, and complexity analysis.
• Strong experience with TypeScript, Node.js, and Express.
• Thorough understanding of Node.js, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.
• Proficiency in designing RESTful APIs.
• Experience with microservices and service-oriented architectures.
• Background in unit and functional testing and debugging.
• Familiarity with Git/GitHub, branching methodologies, code review tools, and CI tools.
• Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, applied mathematics, or a related field from a reputable university.
• Understanding and keen interest in cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology.

Preferred:

• Experience in developing consumer-facing crypto products.
• Demonstrated success in building public-facing APIs in a production environment.
• Ability to work full-stack with familiarity in React.
• Experience interacting with clients and business partners.
• Knowledge of digital wallets and ledgering.

Compensation:

Based on skill level and location, the salary for this role typically ranges between $165,000 - $210,000 USD per year alongside equity, an annual performance bonus, and a range of benefits.
