Senior Software Project Manager
Your role as a Project Manager III within the PMO involves leading and managing critical software and data projects for our business. You will be responsible for creating comprehensive project plans, overseeing teams, tracking progress, and effectively communicating status updates, risks, and issues to ensure project success. Utilizing top methodologies and tools, you will convey objectives and progress clearly, motivate employees and clients, and ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in alignment with our strategy. Your contribution will be pivotal in supporting our PMO and cultivating a culture of accountability and achievement.
Responsibilities
- Guide software projects through structured processes and stages to ensure successful completion for internal, client, and partner deployments
- Manage complex projects using traditional and agile methodologies, serving as an advocate for project success
- Monitor and manage all risks and issues, providing timely and accurate project reporting
- Facilitate communication and workflow across all key functions
- Adhere to PMO processes and guidelines while contributing to their improvement and dissemination
- Oversee project budgets, timelines, resources, and deliverables
- Foster a culture of accountability, responsiveness, flexibility, and positive outcomes
Success Metrics
- Efficiently manage projects and teams to facilitate prompt revenue generation, customer satisfaction, and timely delivery of data and software
- Develop and nurture productive project team and cross-team relationships to ensure seamless handoffs and excellent customer experience
- Aggregate and present project information to enhance decision-making and boost project success
- Identify and escalate risks and issues proactively to enable swift resolution
- Improve team performance through coaching, obstacle removal, and implementation of enhancements, particularly relating to revenue acceleration and customer contentment
Required Skills and Experience
- Possession of Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or commitment to completing a recognized project management curriculum
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in software project and process management, with 7+ years in technical leadership
- Proficiency in managing projects throughout their lifecycle, including planning, progress management, estimation, team development, risk management, and more
- Familiarity with project management methodologies, tools, and techniques, such as MS Project, Smart Sheets, Jira, Confluence, as well as Waterfall, Agile, and Kanban
- Experience overseeing multiple large, complex software customer delivery projects and/or large multi-team programs
- Ability to work independently across teams to ensure successful completion using proven techniques
Desired Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Additional certifications like Scrum Master (PSM or CSM) or Six Sigma are beneficial
- Eagerness for continuous project management learning
- Prior experience working in a PMO
Work Locations
The preferred hiring locations are listed as Boston, New York City, Baltimore, Washington D.C, Charlotte, Raleigh-Durham, and Atlanta, along with remote work options available in select Eastern Time Zone states.
