Position Overview
We are currently looking for an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to join our core team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in constructing crucial, cutting-edge infrastructure for the Solana ecosystem. You will have the opportunity to explore uncharted technical territories and devise innovative solutions across various aspects of our stack.
Systems & Infrastructure Engineering
- Design and maintain high-performance Linux systems for transaction processing and block building.
- Utilize virtualization and isolation technologies (KVM, QEMU, TEEs).
- Debug and enhance the interaction between user-space systems and the Linux kernel.
- Analyze CPU performance, memory management, I/O operations, and scheduling under real-world workloads.
Performance Engineering
- Develop high-performance systems for processing and analyzing on-chain data.
- Optimize critical pathways within our infrastructure and Solana core (Agave & Firedancer) to reduce latency and boost throughput.
- Create new tools for monitoring and enhancing network efficiency.
- Enhance system reliability through thoughtful design, observability, and fault isolation.
- Contribute performance enhancements upstream (Solana / OS / QEMU components).
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of systems-level programming in C, C++, or Rust with proficiency in Rust.
- Extensive experience in Linux systems engineering and performance-critical infrastructure.
- In-depth knowledge of profiling and tracing tools such as perf, flamegraphs, and eBPF.
- Experience in debugging network performance using tools like tcpdump, Wireshark, and packet capture analysis.
- Familiarity with CPU microarchitecture considerations including cache behavior, branch prediction, and NUMA.
- Demonstrated ability to delve into complex systems to identify and resolve issues accurately.
- Strong communication skills.
Strongly Preferred
- Experience in HFT, market-making, or ultra-low-latency trading systems.
- Background in virtualization, hypervisors, TEE development.
- Prior work involving the kernel or embedded systems.
- Familiarity with Solana or blockchain infrastructure.
SALARY: $200,000 - $230,000 per year (Salary offered will be based on experience)
