About the Role:
As a Senior VFX Artist, you will be responsible for overseeing VFX production on live-service titles and driving enhancements in visual quality by leveraging your advanced skills and practical experience.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with art directors and concept artists to define suitable VFX styles and quality standards for the titles
- Lead the production of various VFX assets such as effects, simulations, textures, and materials
- Manage tasks, coordinate schedules, mentor team members, and create necessary documentation for internal and external VFX teams
- Collaborate with engineers and technical artists to develop and enhance the VFX production pipeline
- Investigate and resolve technical issues related to VFX in DCC tools and game engines
- Optimize assets and ensure quality while maintaining a balance between visual quality and performance
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in VFX production for game development or equivalent skills
- Demonstrated experience in presenting VFX expression policies and production direction and leading production initiatives within the team
- Proven track record of driving quality improvement across the entire team through feedback and instruction
- Profound understanding of timing, motion, silhouette, weight, and volume in VFX
- Proficiency in using industry-standard DCC tools for asset production such as Maya, Houdini, and Photoshop
- Practical experience with real-time VFX using engines like Unreal Engine, Unity, or proprietary game engines
- Strong knowledge of performance budgets and technical constraints for content optimization
- Excellent cross-departmental collaboration skills and the ability to proactively lead production initiatives while understanding the team's dynamics
Nice to Have:
- Experience in profiling and optimizing assets with attention to memory and performance considerations
- Broad interest in real-time rendering technology and various asset production tools
- Previous experience in developing and implementing VFX production tools and automation tools
- Familiarity with procedural content production
- Background in establishing VFX quality standards and regulations
