The Infrastructure Platform team at Chainlink Labs supports and empowers engineers to build and maintain critical products and services with significant impact on the blockchain industry. As a staff SRE, you will play a key role in enhancing self-service capabilities and reducing cognitive load across engineering teams. By spearheading initiatives like constructing a services catalog and an internal developer platform, you will contribute to the team’s mission of driving advancement in the blockchain realm.

Your Impact

• Architect and manage large-scale distributed infrastructure with a focus on automation
• Enhance the resilience, efficiency, and scalability of services
• Collaborate with engineers company-wide to troubleshoot issues, implement solutions, and expedite project delivery
• Innovate and optimize the infrastructure platform team's product offerings to promote self-service, drive cost efficiencies, and minimize toil
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to your team and beyond
• Advocate for best practices in reliability, security, and cloud infrastructure to embed a culture of operational excellence

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in devops, infrastructure, SRE, or platform roles
• Proficiency in software development beyond typical infrastructure configurations
• Experience in deploying or extending an internal developer platform to streamline processes for other engineering teams
• Track record of leading cross-team initiatives with measurable impact on business outcomes
• Strong skills in shell scripting and at least one higher-level language
• Proficient in Linux
• Expertise in designing, deploying, and supporting large real-time systems
• Familiarity with monitoring, logging, alerting, and end-to-end tracing
• Background in distributed systems and container orchestration
• Effective communication skills and a willingness to actively engage in planning meetings and code reviews

• Excitement for blockchain, Web 3.0, and decentralized technologies
• Experience in operating infrastructure in the blockchain/web3 domain
• Ability to scale systems sustainably through automation and change advocacy
• Proficiency in managing internal ephemeral test and development environments
• Experience in developing self-service tooling
• Knowledge of strategies for Software Build of Materials (SBOM), artifact signing and verification
• Strong inclination towards security practices
• Competence in defining team priorities and aligning business processes for product/service development
• Previous experience in distributed team settings
• Eagerness to learn and grow, with a focus on continually improving and automating services to reduce manual overhead

Our Stack

Chainlink Labs follows the GitOps methodology for infrastructure and state management, emphasizing self-service and automation through an internal developer platform. The tech stack comprises tools like AWS, Terraform/Terragrunt, Kubernetes, ArgoCD, GitHub Actions, Grafana, GoReleaser, Changesets, and Pulumi. A strong grasp of these tools or underlying concepts is expected of potential candidates.
