Smart Contract Engineer
The Uniswap Protocol, a decentralized trading and market making protocol on Ethereum, is seeking a junior smart contract engineer to contribute to the development of the next generation of the protocol. This role involves designing and implementing smart contracts, researching and applying new smart contract paradigms, contributing to Ethereum Improvement Proposals (EIPs), participating in discussions from concept to launch, and maintaining backend services that interface with the Uniswap Protocol.
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the Uniswap protocol by designing and implementing smart contracts
- Explore and implement new smart contract paradigms
- Design and implement peripheral mechanisms for the Uniswap protocol
- Contribute to Ethereum Improvement Proposals (EIPs)
- Participate in discussions throughout the product development lifecycle
- Build and maintain low-level backend services that interact with the Uniswap Protocol
Requirements:
- 1+ years of experience building and releasing Solidity contracts in a production environment
- 1+ years of experience working with blockchains, consensus algorithms, peer-to-peer (p2p) systems, or applied cryptography
- Deep understanding of Ethereum, the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM), and general knowledge of the Ethereum roadmap
- Strong comprehension of different blockchain designs, their tradeoffs, and the cryptography underlying blockchains
- Strong foundation in computer science principles
Nice to haves:
- Experience with Go, Rust, or a similar programming language
- Degree in mathematics or computer science
- Experience implementing complex mathematics in Solidity
- Passion for unicorns :)
- Knowledge of cloud infrastructure, networking, or orchestration with AWS (e.g., Docker, ECS, CDK, DynamoDB)
As an equal opportunity employer, Uniswap Labs offers a competitive minimum salary of $145,000-$195,000 per year plus additional compensation elements, including equity, tokens, and benefits.
