Software Engineer - Prime Financing

BitGo is a prominent provider of digital asset solutions, offering custody, wallets, staking, trading, financing, and settlement services from regulated cold storage since 2013. Our primary focus is to facilitate secure navigation in the digital asset sector for our clients. With a global presence and multiple Trust companies, BitGo caters to numerous institutions, top industry brands, exchanges, platforms, and millions of retail investors globally. Serving as the operational backbone of the digital economy, BitGo handles a substantial volume of Bitcoin network transactions and stands as the largest independent digital asset custodian and staking provider worldwide.

This role necessitates full-time onsite presence at our Palo Alto office to foster collaborative team dynamics and support innovative problem-solving approaches.

Responsibilities

• Develop robust APIs, libraries, and services to power financial services such as clearing and settlement, digital asset lending, trading, and liquidity
• Take ownership of functionality and scalability aspects from inception to deployment and customer integration
• Document and expose functionality to UI, third-party developers, and internal and external tooling
• Collaborate closely with engineering teams to ensure consistency in technical requirements understanding and work quality
• Provide mentorship to peers in the engineering team through code reviews and education on best practices.

Required

• Minimum 3 years of back-end, server-side software development experience
• Background in Financial Services and/or Financial Technology
• Proficient in algorithm design, problem-solving, and complexity analysis
• Strong skills in server-side languages like TypeScript/Node.JS
• Experience with SQL databases (e.g., Postgres or MySQL) and RESTful API design
• Proficiency in unit and functional testing, debugging
• Familiarity with microservices and service-oriented architectures
• Expertise in Git/GitHub, code review tools, CI tools, JIRA, Confluence, etc.
• Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment
• Willingness to participate in on-call rotations for system support

Preferred

• Experience in asynchronous programming and functional programming
• Knowledge of financial accounting systems, e.g., general ledger functions
• Understanding of digital asset trading, lending, wallets
• Full-stack capabilities and familiarity with React
• Background in large-scale, real-time, distributed applications
• Experience working with clients, business partners
• Interest in cryptocurrencies and the blockchain industry

Pay Transparency Notice: Depending on level and location, this role offers an average base salary range of $150,000 - $180,000 USD alongside equity, an annual performance bonus, and comprehensive benefits package.
