Software Engineer - Prime Trade

Role and Responsibilities:

We are a leading provider of digital asset solutions, specializing in custody, wallets, staking, trading, financing, and settlement services from regulated cold storage. Our focus is on securely enabling clients to navigate the digital asset space. We operate globally, serving thousands of institutions and millions of retail investors. As an integral part of the digital economy, our company handles a substantial portion of Bitcoin network transactions and is the largest independent digital asset custodian and staking provider globally.

This position requires full-time onsite presence at our Toronto office to support collaborative teamwork and innovative problem-solving efforts.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop robust APIs, libraries, and services to support financial services, including clearing and settlement, digital asset lending, trading, and liquidity.
• Take ownership of functionality and scalability features from concept to deployment and integration.
• Document and expose functionality for user interfaces, third-party developers, and internal and external tools.
• Collaborate closely with all engineering teams to maintain consistency in technical requirements and work quality.
• Provide mentorship to peers within the engineering team through code reviews and best practices education.

Required:

• Over 3 years of back-end, server-side software development experience.
• Background in Financial Services and/or Financial Technology.
• Proficient in algorithm design, problem-solving, and complexity analysis.
• Strong familiarity with server-side languages like TypeScript/Node.JS.
• Solid experience with SQL databases such as Postgres or MySQL.
• Proficient in RESTful API design.
• Experience in unit and functional testing, debugging, microservices, and service-oriented architectures.
• Competence in Git/GitHub, code review, CI tools, and project management platforms.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to participate in on-call rotations for system support.

Preferred:

• Experience in asynchronous programming and functional programming.
• Exposure to financial accounting systems like general ledger functions.
• Familiarity with digital asset trading, lending, and wallets.
• Well-versed in full-stack development and competent with React.
• Background in large-scale, real-time, and distributed applications.
• Previous experience with clients or business partners.
• Strong interest in cryptocurrencies and blockchain industry.

Compensation:

For this role, depending on level and location, average compensation ranges between $180,000 - $220,000 CAD annually. In addition to the base salary, equity, an annual performance bonus, and comprehensive benefits are offered as part of the compensation package.
