Responsibilities:
Circle is seeking a talented individual for a part-time role to collaborate directly with the Chief Legal Officer in various pivotal objectives. Tasked with enhancing the legal department's productivity and efficacy, this individual will establish and maintain internal partnerships across departments and cultivate high-value external relationships.
Key Tasks:
- Work closely with the Chief Legal Officer and Deputy General Counsels to strategize and optimize the legal department's operations, implementing processes to streamline and enhance the team's day-to-day functions.
- Identify requirements within the legal and corporate affairs department, support talent acquisition, and foster professional growth in alignment with organizational needs.
- Conduct comprehensive research into regulatory and legal facets concerning stablecoins and digital asset markets.
- Assist in generating thought leadership content with the Chief Legal Officer, ensuring relevance within the industry landscape.
- Collaborate with diverse stakeholders like Policy, Finance, and Product teams to pinpoint strategic focal points for the Chief Legal Officer and corporate affairs group.
- Prepare the Chief Legal Officer for essential internal and external engagements, facilitating communication and engagement.
- Undertake special projects as delegated by the Chief Legal Officer.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Over 10 years of legal background in esteemed law firms, demonstrating proficiency in various legal dimensions including corporate, finance, and securities laws.
- Experienced in intellectual initiatives and academic pursuits, with a history of managing complex legal matters in financial environments.
- Demonstrates versatility in transitioning between large law firms and in-house legal roles, eager to apply expertise in a fast-growing organization.
- Skilled in communication and collaboration across multifunctional teams, prior exposure in FinTech is advantageous.
- Enthusiastic about Circle's mission, values, financial innovations, and the prospects of cryptocurrency and blockchain technologies.
- Thrives in dynamic, fast-paced work settings, adept at managing multiple projects concurrently, and solving challenges with a pragmatic approach.
- Strong organizational skills, team-oriented attitude, and intrinsic motivation to contribute to team success.
- Possesses a JD degree, preferably from top-tier or distinguished law schools, with active bar membership in a U.S. state.
- Extensive experience leading in-house legal teams, and solid grasp of legal principles, especially in the FinTech domain.
- Proficient in verbal and written communication, well-versed in utilizing tools like Slack, Apple MacOS, and GSuite.
Additional Details:
- This position offers day-one PERM sponsorship for eligible candidates.
- Compensation packages are tailored based on an array of qualifications and business requirements, reflecting relevant skills and proficiencies.
Base Pay Range: $207,500 - $270,000
Annual Bonus Target: 17.5%
