Sr. Director, Site Development – Texas
Job Overview
The Senior Director of Site Development will act as the primary lead on behalf of CleanSpark for managing AI Data Center sites in Texas through all stages, from initial assessment to construction, commissioning, and handover.
This position encompasses the entirety of the site lifecycle, overseeing each site from start to finish, which includes evaluation, entitlement, permitting, construction supervision, commissioning, and final handoff. The Senior Director collaborates closely with a dedicated regional team, the design-build partner, CleanSpark's Program Controls and Quality departments, and executive leadership to ensure that all assigned sites adhere to schedule, budget, and quality standards essential for the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day operation of assigned AI data center sites in Texas throughout the complete lifecycle, making independent decisions on routine site matters.
- Keep the VP of Projects informed and obtain approvals for impactful decisions regarding sites.
- Direct management of Site Readiness activities in the region, including surveys, permitting strategies, and initial site assessments.
- Supervise a diverse team of internal staff and external contractors supporting site operations in the region.
- Maintain relationships with local authorities, utilities, and landowners during entitlement and permitting processes.
- Coordinate with various CleanSpark departments to ensure alignment on site-related projects.
- Serve as the primary point of contact with the design-build contractor's leadership during design, construction, and commissioning phases.
- Oversee site schedule, budget, and risk in coordination with CleanSpark's Program Controls team, highlighting any deviations promptly.
- Collaborate with Quality, HSE, and Commissioning resources to confirm sites meet CleanSpark's expectations before handover.
- Represent CleanSpark's interests in the region on routine matters, escalating significant issues to senior leadership.
- Provide regular project updates to leadership.
- Develop and lead the site team in the region as the Texas portfolio grows.

Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in site development, land development, or construction management for large-scale infrastructure, industrial, or data center projects.
- Demonstrated experience overseeing projects from entitlement through construction completion.
- Familiarity with design-build or EPC contractors operating under lump sum delivery models.
- Proficiency in permitting, utility interconnection, and land use processes.
- Ability to make sound decisions on routine site matters and escalate significant decisions promptly to senior leadership.
- Proven capability to manage multiple concurrent projects and lead cross-functional teams effectively.
- Strong communication skills with comfort in dealing directly with external stakeholders.
The salary range for this position is between $200,000 - $200,000 annually.
