We are in search of a Staff Software Engineer to join our Prime Engineering team and contribute to advancing new features and applications for our enterprise clients. The Prime team works on systems that elevate BitGo's position as the premier digital assets Prime Broker for businesses.

This role is predominantly remote, requiring individuals within reasonable commuting distance to be present onsite on Wednesdays.

Responsibilities:

• Conceptualize and construct durable, resilient, and robust APIs, libraries, and services to bolster our financial services such as clearing and settlement, digital asset lending, trading, and liquidity handling.
• Take charge of enhancing functionality and scalability features from idea creation to deployment and integration with customers.
• Document and present features to the UI, third-party developers, and our internal and external tools.
• Collaborate closely with all engineering teams to maintain a shared understanding of technical obligations and to uphold work quality consistently.
• Offer mentorship to peers within the broader engineering team through code assessments and guidance on best practices.

Required:

• More than eight years of experience in backend, server-side software development.
• Proficient in algorithm design, problem-solving, and complexity analysis.
• Solid experience with server-side languages like TypeScript/Node.JS.
• Skilled in working with SQL databases like Postgres or MySQL.
• Proficiency in RESTful API design.
• Familiarity with unit and functional testing, as well as debugging procedures.
• Hands-on experience in microservices and service-oriented architectures.
• Well-versed in Git/GitHub, branching methodologies, code review tools, CI tools, JIRA, Confluence, etc.
• Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced atmosphere.
• Willingness to participate in on-call rotations for system support.

Preferred:

• Experience in Financial Services and/or Financial Technology.
• Adept at asynchronous programming.
• Familiarity with functional programming.
• Background in developing or supporting financial accounting systems like general ledger and bookkeeping functions.
• Knowledge of digital asset trading, lending, and wallets, or a keen interest to understand them deeply.
• Capacity to handle full-stack responsibilities along with acquaintance with React.
• Proficiency in large-scale, real-time, and distributed applications.
• Exposure to client-facing interactions and business partnerships.
• Strong interest and understanding of cryptocurrencies and the blockchain industry.

Pay Transparency Notice: Depending on role level and location, typical compensation for this position ranges from $185,000 - $235,000 USD as a base salary. Equity, annual bonus, and additional benefits mentioned are also included in the overall compensation package.
