BitGo is currently seeking a Staff Software Engineer for its HeightZero team. The role involves working from the office in Palo Alto on Wednesdays, with the option of remote work for the remainder of the week.
Responsibilities:
- Designing and constructing scalable, well-abstracted, and robust APIs, libraries, and services to integrate blockchains and BitGo functionality into HeightZero products.
- Taking charge of functionality and scalability aspects from research, implementation to deployment.
- Developing integration libraries and SDKs for interfacing with servers and APIs.
- Documenting and exposing functionality to various stakeholders, including UI, third-party developers, and internal/external tooling.
- Collaborating closely with engineering teams and product managers to ensure understanding of technical requirements and maintain consistency in work quality.
- Providing mentorship to peers across the broader engineering team via code reviews and sharing best practices.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in full-stack software development.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Display discipline and ownership in work efforts.
- Proficient in React.js., Node.js, and TypeScript.
- Strong UI/UX design sense.
- Skilled in unit and functional testing, as well as debugging.
- Experienced in providing simple and flexible abstractions in complex systems.
- Proficiency in Git/GitHub, branching methodologies, code review tools, CI tools, etc.
- Strong at algorithm design, problem-solving, and complexity analysis.
- Competent in designing and implementing various database types.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge and experience in the blockchain and/or security industry.
- Interest and understanding of cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology.
- Experience with microservices and service-oriented architectures.
- Familiarity with AWS Amplify, ELB, and EC2.
- Real-world experience in building scalable distributed systems.
