Staff Software Engineer - HeightZero

With its mission to deliver trust in digital assets, BitGo is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join its HeightZero team at the office in NY, NY (40 Wall St).

Responsibilities:

• Develop and scale APIs, libraries, and services to integrate blockchains and BitGo features into HeightZero products.
• Take ownership of functionality and scalability from research to deployment.
• Create integration libraries and Software Development Kits (SDKs) for interfacing with server and APIs.
• Document and provide functionality details to UI, third-party developers, and internal and external tooling.
• Collaborate closely with engineering teams and product managers to ensure technical requirements are met.
• Mentor peers in the broader engineering team through code reviews and best practice education.

Required:

• Minimum of 8 years of backend software development experience.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in server-side languages like TypeScript/Node.JS and strong debugging skills.
• Strong unit and functional testing capabilities.
• Experience with designing and implementing databases.
• Proficiency in Git, GitHub, CI tools, and branching methodologies.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and knowledge of algorithm design.

Preferred:

• Experience in the blockchain and security industry.
• Interest in cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology.
• Background in microservices and service-oriented architectures.
• Familiarity with AWS services such as Amplify, ELB, and EC2.
• Practical experience in building scalable distributed systems.
