Responsibilities:
As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer at Circle, you will be involved in designing, constructing, and managing Circle's infrastructure to support our growing customer base across various regions on public cloud platforms. Your expertise will ensure that Circle's products and core systems operate consistently, reliably, and efficiently. This role offers a unique opportunity to enhance your skills, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and engage in continuous learning within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Role Tasks:
- Providing support to multiple development teams by managing an agile, responsive CI/CD platform for high-quality builds with measurable performance and quality metrics.
- Building, maintaining, and securing cloud infrastructure and resources using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, and Ansible.
- Automating operational tasks using languages like Go, Python, and serverless solutions such as AWS Lambda and Kubernetes Jobs.
- Designing, overseeing, and monitoring Kubernetes clusters for various production workloads.
- Advancing our blockchain infrastructure by managing blockchain nodes across different blockchain networks.
- Collaborating with the Security team to develop and sustain security-focused tools and practices to ensure a top-tier security posture.
- Participating in an on-call rotation to swiftly address any production system disruptions and conducting root cause analyses.
- Planning and testing disaster recovery scenarios for a highly available microservices architecture.
- Mentoring team members and assisting in team growth and scalability.
Requirements for Positions:
Senior Site Reliability Engineer (III)
- At least 4 years of experience in DevOps roles with a focus on tooling, automation, and infrastructure on a major public cloud provider.
- Proficiency in coding and scripting languages like Go, Python, and Shell.
- Strong background in building and supporting CI/CD platforms and agile engineering teams for developing microservice applications.
- Expertise in various tools, technologies, and concepts related to cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes clusters, blockchain systems, databases, data warehousing, networking, monitoring tools, and Infrastructure as Code with a focus on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Staff Site Reliability Engineer (IV)
- 7+ years of experience in DevOps roles with a focus on tooling, automation, and infrastructure on a major public cloud provider.
- Demonstrated technical leadership in architecture, system design, and API development.
- Profound knowledge in cloud services, Kubernetes, SQL databases, coding standards, and code quality.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Senior Site Reliability Engineer:
- Base Pay Range: $147,500 - $195,000 with an Annual Bonus Target of 12.5%.
- Staff Site Reliability Engineer:
- Base Pay Range: $172,500 - $227,500 with an Annual Bonus Target of 15%.
