Staff Technical Architect

We are in search of a highly proficient Staff Engineer/Technical Architect with deep expertise in fullstack development, solution architecture, system design, and system scaling. In this role, you will engage in coding 25% of the time while dedicating 75% of your focus to architecting, designing, and creating strong and scalable systems. Your responsibilities include working closely with engineering teams, project managers, designers, and engineering leadership to ensure the successful completion of complex projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Architectural Leadership:
- Lead the design and architecture of scalable, reliable, and secure systems, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technical best practices.
- Provide guidance on integrating blockchain/Web3 technologies and drive architectural decisions for fullstack applications, concentrating on React, TypeScript, Node.js, and NestJS.
- Champion a documentation-first culture, utilizing principles like ADRs and DEEP.
Hands-On Development:
- Contribute to critical features and components development as necessary, focusing on high-impact areas, and conduct code reviews for quality assurance.
- Lead pair programming sessions and enjoy collaborating with teams to solve problems collectively.
System Scaling:
- Spearhead initiatives to scale current systems, tackling performance bottlenecks, optimizing resource utilization, and ensuring system resilience.
- Collaborate on scaling strategies for databases, microservices, and other essential infrastructure components.
Technical Strategy & Innovation:
- Contribute to the organization's technical strategy aligning it with business goals and identify opportunities for innovation within the engineering structure.
- Provide technical leadership in designing scalable solutions and best practices, and tackle and solve technical challenges.
Cross-Team Remote Collaboration & Impact:
- Work closely with engineering teams to convert business requirements into technical solutions, acting as a technical mentor across teams to enhance engineering standards.
- Negotiate with Product Management to meet user demands without compromising quality or engendering technical debt.
- Make a positive impact on team efficiency and growth by mentoring engineers, advocating for technical excellence, and fostering a culture of continuous learning.
Required Qualifications:
- Over 9 years of fullstack development experience with recent expertise in React, NextJS, TypeScript, and Node.js.
- Proven track record in designing scalable, high-performance systems with comprehensive written documentation components.
- Practical experience with blockchain/Web3 technologies and their incorporation into larger systems.
- Strong DevOps background, including setting up and managing CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and logging solutions.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, ability to work effectively across teams and with non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated proficiency in leading technical discussions, aligning engineering teams, and collaborating with engineering leadership.
- Strong problem-solving abilities to navigate complex technical hurdles.
- Experience in a startup or fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Prior experience in a staff or principal engineer role, with focus on architecture and solution design.
