Technical Program Manager

Genies, a company in the avatar technology space, is searching for a skilled Technical Program Manager to join their Developer Platform Team. The Technical Program Manager will be responsible for overseeing all stages of product development - from planning to implementation and deployment. The Developer Platform is crucial to Genies' mission of building an interoperable Avatar network, and the products developed serve as the foundation for internal and external developers to create avatar-based experiences and products. The role requires exceptional leadership, collaboration skills, technical expertise, and product sense. Reporting to the Director of Engineering, this role is based in either the SF Bay Area office or the Los Angeles HQ.

Key Responsibilities

• Leading and managing complex technical projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery aligned with business objectives
• Acting as a technical liaison to explain intricate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and ensuring alignment across teams
• Collaborating closely with engineering, product management, and other cross-functional teams to define project requirements, scope, and timelines
• Developing and maintaining detailed project plans including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation
• Monitoring project progress, identifying and addressing risks, and resolving issues as they arise
• Facilitating effective communication and collaboration among team members and stakeholders
• Ensuring projects adhere to established standards and best practices while meeting performance and quality benchmarks
• Continuously improving project management processes and tools for enhanced efficiency and effectiveness

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• Master's degree in Computer Science or related field is a plus
• Minimum 5 years of experience in technical program management, ideally within consumer tech, gaming, platform, or developer tools environment
• Strong technical expertise with a deep understanding of software development, platform engineering, and developer tools
• Proven track record in managing large-scale, complex technical projects involving multiple stakeholders
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills in conveying technical information to diverse audiences
• Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies such as Agile and Scrum
• Ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Attention to detail and dedication to delivering high-quality results
