Role and Responsibilities
As a Trading Desk Operations Associate, you will play a vital role in managing the operational aspects of our trading desk activities. This will involve working closely with internal teams and external parties. You will gain a deep understanding of the entire trading and settlement cycle, as well as the regulatory and operational considerations involved at each stage. Your responsibilities will include:
- Timely handling of settlement requests from counterparties and acting as the main point of contact for a portfolio of counterparties. Meeting assigned Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for trade operations.
- Collaborating with the Trading Desk, Product, and Customer Success teams to understand and meet client expectations efficiently.
- Ensuring accurate reconciliation of trades, transfers, and inventory across internal and external systems, including banks and custodians.
- Monitoring and managing daily inventory requirements for settlements, lending, and borrowing activities, working closely with Treasury Management.
- Providing inputs to compliance and risk teams to implement effective controls in response to evolving regulatory changes.
- Adhering to established trade operations processes to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Coordinating with the Accounting team to ensure timely provision of accurate trade and settlement data.
Requirements
- 1-5 years of experience in a trading firm, hedge fund, or bank.
- Excellent self-management skills with a strong inclination for organization and progress tracking.
- Previous experience working in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Desire to become a subject matter expert on digital assets such as Bitcoin and Ethereum.
You will need to gain a comprehensive understanding of cryptocurrency trade operations and the life cycle of institutional trading. You will be expected to be the primary point of contact for trade settlements and operations, and will be exposed to a wide range of functions in a dynamic and complex market. Effective multitasking, prioritization, and management of critical day-to-day functions will be essential in this role.
