We are looking for an experienced VFX Artist to join our team working on a groundbreaking Metaverse project, Seedworld, developed using Unreal 5.3.
As a VFX artist, you will utilize your expertise in Unreal (specifically Niagara & Blueprint) and standard artist tools (e.g., Photoshop, Substance, 3D modeling software) to design and optimize particle systems, shaders, and other visual effects that align with Seedworld's distinctive style.
Responsibilities:
- Develop visual effects assets that balance performance, efficiency, and artistry to deliver high-quality visuals while maintaining optimal game performance.
- Research, conceptualize, and create quality visual effects based on references for various game elements.
- Collaborate with the art director, game designers, and developers to ensure VFX aligns with game requirements and artistic standards.
- Share knowledge and best practices with team members.
- Actively engage in technical and artistic discussions and contribute to problem-solving.
- Summarize work and create documentation for effective internal and external communication.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, with at least one AAA game shipped for PC or console.
- Previous experience designing 2D and 3D stylized visual effects.
- Proficiency in Unreal game engine and Niagara.
- Familiarity with software such as Maya, Blender, Houdini, Photoshop, Substance, and Embergen.
Desired Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of FX shaders from a visual and technical perspective.
- Artistic expertise to collaborate effectively with the Art Director.
- Thorough knowledge of 3D requirements pre-shader (UV, Texture) and full game pipelines.
- Experience in shader/material development.
- Efficient, well-organized, collaborative, and receptive to feedback.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, fluency in English, and understanding of production values, deadlines, and priorities.
