Web Experience Designer & Payload Developer (3 month contract)

As a Web Experience Designer & Payload Developer, you will have a significant role in crafting and constructing our future content-centric web experiences. Your duties include designing reusable templates, implementing them in Payload CMS, and developing modular components and widgets to enhance content production efficiency. This position merges design aesthetics with practical front-end development and CMS integration to ensure visually appealing and technically sound digital properties.

Responsibilities

• Design and provide reusable page templates like product landing pages that are consistent with our brand and scalable.
• Utilize Figma to create designs for evaluation purposes.
• Construct and set up these templates in Payload CMS to enable easy editing and reusing by content editors.
• Produce and integrate reusable widgets/components such as author profile cards, live pricing blocks, and rich content sections.
• Collaborate with Organic Growth, Product, and Engineering teams to guarantee template and widget alignment with performance, UX, and SEO/AIO standards.
• Ensure consistent application of responsive design and accessibility guidelines throughout all components.
• Incorporate external data sources like APIs for pricing and content feeds into CMS-driven components.
• Offer technical documentation and training to internal teams on maximizing the effectiveness and scalability of the systems you develop.
• Keep abreast of design and front-end development best practices and innovations in CMS frameworks to enhance our web experiences.

Requirements

• Minimum 4 years of experience in web design and front-end development, preferably in global or content-rich environments.
• Proven expertise in Payload CMS (or similar headless CMS platforms such as Strapi, Sanity, Contentful) encompassing content modeling and customized component development.
• Strong design capabilities with a comprehensive portfolio featuring UI/UX and component-oriented systems.
• Proficiency in modern front-end technologies including React, Next.js, TypeScript, and CSS frameworks.
• Ability to design and code reusable widgets and components that seamlessly integrate with CMS operations.
• Knowledge of accessibility, responsive design, and performance optimization.
• Prior experience working with APIs and dynamic data integrations.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills in English for effective teamwork with cross-functional groups.
• Independent, detail-oriented, and capable of delivering under pressure in a dynamic environment.
