Backend Operations Support Engineer (Card) - Day/Night Shift
We are seeking a dedicated team member to contribute to the design, development, maintenance, and enhancement of software for various project ventures that align with our core businesses. These projects are rapidly launched with a lean team structure. The role involves active participation in designing components for scalable applications, spanning from frontend UI to backend infrastructure.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Operation Development and Testing
- Engage in requirements analysis, system design, and take on development tasks within the technical team.
- Develop and refine integration tests to ensure software robustness.
- Build strong relationships with different operation teams to enhance operational efficiency.
Customer Support and Problem Resolution
- Serve as the primary technical contact for troubleshooting and resolving issues encountered in production projects.
- Participate in daily activities of the Customer Support team, handling user issues promptly.
- Demonstrate extensive knowledge of derivs trading services to promptly identify and solve problems and collaborate with other teams for solutions.
- Regularly analyze encountered problems, translate them into business requirements, and collaborate with the Project Manager and developers to enhance products.
System Reliability and Maintenance
- Collaborate with the SRE team to implement monitoring and alerting mechanisms for early issue detection.
- Propose system upgrade and optimization strategies to improve performance and reliability.
- Coordinate with relevant teams in case of system failures to minimize downtime and user impact.
Timezone & Shift Requirements: Flexibility to work shifts covering both Asia and EST timezones, including day/night shifts based on operational needs.
Requirements:
- Proficiency in payment card domain knowledge.
- Experience in DevOps with emphasis on AWS, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong experience in a Linux environment and relevant support tools.
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging systems like Datadog, Sumologic, and OpenTelemetry.
- Knowledge of GitOps with ArgoCD is advantageous.
- Additional experience with shell scripting, Ruby, Golang, and SQL technologies is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills to proactively identify and address issues.
- Detail-oriented with multitasking abilities across multiple projects.
- Excellent communication skills to engage with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proficiency in English and Mandarin; Cantonese proficiency is a bonus.
- Positive mindset with a proactive and can-do attitude.
- Familiarity with version control systems (Git is preferred) and SDLC processes.
