Backend Production Support Engineer - Equities, MainApp
We are seeking a team member to be involved in the design, development, maintenance, and enhancement of software for various ventures projects closely related to our core businesses. This role will require active participation in designing different components for scalable applications, ranging from frontend UI to backend infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
1. Technical Development and Testing
a. Engage in requirements analysis, system design, and partake in development tasks within the technical team.
b. Write and refine integration tests to ensure software robustness and reliability.
c. Establish strong ties with various operation teams to enhance operational efficiency continuously.
2. Customer Support and Problem Resolution
a. Serve as the primary technical point of contact for resolving issues in the derivs trading project production environment, involving troubleshooting and implementing effective solutions.
b. Participate in the daily operations of the CS team, addressing user issues promptly.
c. Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of derivs trading upstream and downstream business services to quickly analyze and resolve problems.
d. Organize and analyze encountered problems, translating them into business requirements for improvement.
3. System Reliability and Maintenance
a. Collaborate with the SRE team to establish effective monitoring and alerting mechanisms, aiming to identify and resolve issues in the production environment promptly.
b. Develop system upgrade and optimization plans for enhanced performance and reliability.
c. Coordinate with relevant teams in the event of system failures to minimize downtime and user impact.
4. Timezone: Primarily work in the Hong Kong timezone due to customer requirements.
5. Working and Interview Language: Proficient in both written and spoken English.
Requirements:
- 3-5 years of experience in application or technical support.
- Proficiency in shell scripting, Ruby, Golang, and SQL technologies.
- Experience with monitoring and logging systems such as Datadog, Sumologic, and OpenTelemetry.
- Strong analytical skills and a proactive problem-solving approach.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ownership mentality and strong communication skills.
- Proficient in both English and Mandarin languages.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in equity trading platforms and familiarity with equity-related knowledge.
- Background in technical support in banking or financial sectors.
- Knowledge of DevOps tools like AWS, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Proficiency in a Linux environment and support tools.
- Experience in Site Reliability Engineering or development-related roles.
