Backend Production Support Engineer - Equities, MainApp
We are seeking an individual to join our dynamic team responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and enhancing software for various venturous projects that are closely linked to our core businesses. These projects are rapidly created with lean teams. As a team member, you will play a vital role in designing different elements of scalable applications, ranging from frontend user interface to backend infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
1. Technical Development and Testing
- Engage in requirements analysis, system design, and participate in the development work within the technical team.
- Write and enhance integration tests to ensure software robustness and reliability.
- Foster close relationships with various operational teams to enhance operational efficiency.
2. Customer Support and Problem Resolution
- Serve as the primary technical contact for troubleshooting production issues in the derivs trading project including root cause analysis and effective solution implementation.
- Collaborate with the Customer Support (CS) team to address user issues promptly and understand their requirements.
- Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of upstream and downstream business services related to derivs trading for quick problem analysis and resolution.
- Regularly organize encountered problems into business requirements and work with the Project Manager and developers to improve products.
3. System Reliability and Maintenance
- Collaborate with the SRE team to establish monitoring and alerting mechanisms for early issue identification.
- Provide system upgrade and optimization plans to improve system performance and reliability.
- Coordinate with relevant teams in case of system failure to minimize downtime and user impact.
4. Working and Interview Language: English
Requirements:
- 3-5 years of experience in application or technical support.
- Proficiency in shell scripting, Ruby, Golang, and SQL technologies.
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging systems like Datadog, Sumologic, and OpenTelemetry.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to proactively identify and address issues.
- Detail-oriented with excellent multitasking abilities and strong ownership of work.
- Proactive, solution-oriented mindset with a sense of ownership.
- Excellent communication skills to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proficient in both written and spoken English and Mandarin.
Plus Abilities:
- Experience in equity trading platforms and equity-related knowledge.
- Technical support experience in banking and other financial sectors.
- Background in DevOps, particularly with AWS, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong experience in a Linux environment and related support tools.
- Experience in development or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE).
