Backend Production Support Engineer - Night Shift
We are seeking a skilled individual to join our team dedicated to designing, developing, maintaining, and enhancing software for diverse venture projects aligned with our core businesses. These projects are rapidly implemented with a lean team. As a team member, you will play a key role in designing various components for scalable applications, ranging from frontend UI to backend infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Provide operational support during trading hours and manage daily operational procedures.
- Actively monitor application performance and troubleshoot any issues promptly.
- Work within the development team to create tools for operations and enhance system observability.
- Automate and optimize operations and processes to drive efficiency.
- Collaborate with colleagues, escalate to subject matter experts when needed, and establish strong working relationships with different operational groups.
- Communicate effectively with developers and internal stakeholders regarding infrastructure and platform issues.
- Collaborate with the SRE team to offer monitoring feedback in order to enhance observability.
- Document operational procedures and establish a knowledge base to ensure scalable and maintainable operations.
- Coordinate with vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure proper installation, configuration, and testing of application services.
- Implement change management processes by evaluating change risks and devising backup plans.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in DevOps, particularly with AWS, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Proficiency in a Linux environment and relevant support tools.
- Hands-on experience with shell scripting, Ruby, and SQL technologies.
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging systems such as Datadog, Sumologic, and OpenTelemetry.
- Knowledge of exchange platform domain.
- Familiarity with GitOps using ArgoCD is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills with a proactive approach to problem identification and resolution.
- Detail-oriented with good multitasking abilities and ownership of work.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Mandarin; knowledge of Cantonese is a bonus.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including covering U.S. trading sessions.
- Positive and proactive attitude with a "can-do" mindset.
Desired Skills
- Experience with version control systems, with Git knowledge being advantageous.
- Understanding of SDLC processes and a proactive approach to process automation.
- Quick learner with the ability to adapt to new technologies.
- Previous experience managing software on AWS would be beneficial.
