Blockchain Application Support Engineer

Responsibilities

• Responsible for ensuring continuous application functionality in the Production environment.
• Oversee other non-production environments like pre-production/staging.
• Demonstrated proficiency in understanding application features and all supported blockchain technologies.
• Collaborate closely with application and infrastructure engineers to align on upcoming pushes to production environments.
• Capable of implementing fixes, enhancements, and optimizations across applications and infrastructure.
• Proactively identify potential delivery issues that could impact production uptime, scalability, or responsiveness.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and address application alerts and issues.
• Manage incident and problem resolution, conducting follow-ups post-resolution to verify satisfactory outcomes.
• Continuously enhance monitoring tools and associated processes.
• Coordinate Disaster Recovery testing and audits.
• Maintain and support blockchain infrastructure, with some DevOps knowledge being beneficial.
• For senior roles, responsibilities may extend to liaising with stakeholders regarding application issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a similar field.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Rust, Javascript, or Golang.
• Previous professional experience in application support roles.
• Strong attention to detail with a robust analytical mindset.
• Comfortable interpreting logs and proficient at spotting anomalies and inconsistencies.
• Innate curiosity and dedication to identifying problems and root causes, coupled with effective communication skills to convey findings to the team.
• Experience in deploying applications across various cloud platforms like Azure, Google, and Amazon.
• Experience in developing, deploying, and maintaining monitoring tools such as Grafana and Prometheus.
• Proficiency in deploying and managing container infrastructures like Kubernetes and docker-compose.
• Experience in building, deploying, and managing logging tools such as Fluentd, ElasticSearch, and Kibana.
