Blockchain Engineer (Rust / CKB / Bitcoin / UTXO)
About the Role
We’re looking for a Blockchain Engineer to explore and build new possibilities around RGB++, CKB, and Bitcoin.
RGB++ is built around the UTXO model, so this role is particularly suited to engineers who understand Bitcoin, UTXO-based systems, or similar protocol-level architectures and are interested in exploring what new ideas can be built from that foundation.
You’ll start with RGB++ — understanding what exists today, exploring what could come next, and turning promising ideas into tools, prototypes, or infrastructure that other developers can build on.
- RGB++ Protocol : https://rgbpp.com
- RGB++ GitHubRGB++ on GitHub : https://github.com/RGBPlusPlus
What You'll Do
- Explore new technical and product possibilities around RGB++, CKB and Bitcoin.
- Build prototypes, tools, SDKs, integrations or infrastructure to test promising ideas.
- Improve the developer experience around RGB++ and related technologies.
- Work with external developers, helping them understand and build on what we create.
- Contribute to and collaborate with the open-source ecosystem.
- Work with existing RGB++ infrastructure and contribute to its ongoing development where needed.
- Share your experiments, learnings and technical thinking with the team and developer community.
What We're Looking For
- Solid blockchain fundamentals and experience working beyond application-level development.
- Strong hands-on engineering ability with Rust and/or JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Ability to take an idea from exploration to something tangible without needing a detailed specification.
- Enjoy figuring out what should be built, not only how to build it.
- Strong interest in Bitcoin, blockchain infrastructure, and protocol-level innovation.
- An open-source mindset and comfort building things that other developers can use and extend.
- Self-driven and comfortable working independently in a remote environment.
- Comfortable communicating in Chinese, with sufficient written English to read technical documentation and communicate asynchronously
Nice to Have
- Hands-on experience with Bitcoin, UTXO-based systems, or other UTXO-based protocols
- CKB / RGB++ experience
- L1/L2 or blockchain infrastructure development experience
- Systems or embedded engineering background
- Meaningful open-source contributions or strong public technical projects
Why This Role
This isn't a role where you'll spend your time working through a predefined backlog. You'll start with RGB++, but you'll have room to explore broader possibilities around CKB and Bitcoin, develop your own ideas, and turn the most interesting ones into something real.
You'll be building in the open, with the opportunity to create tools and infrastructure that other developers can use and extend. We care less about titles or years of experience than whether you're curious, self-driven, technically capable, and excited to figure out what should be built next.
