The ideal candidate will have a background in blockchain protocols and a strong enthusiasm for advancing these sectors by amalgamating their functionalities.
Substantial responsibilities include architecting and implementing extensions to the foundation of the Sygma interoperability protocol and associated tools. Collaboration with the Research Team to explore cutting-edge blockchain technologies and drive innovation in cross-chain protocols is a key aspect of this role.
With our focus on cross-chain interoperability technologies utilizing ZK and Optimistic bridges, your involvement as a Blockchain ZK Engineer will be instrumental in refining blockchain interoperability and expanding possibilities within this emerging field. All work at Sygma is open-source, fostering ample opportunities for cross-collaboration within diverse blockchain networks and ecosystems.
[Key Responsibilities]
- Mapping out strategies to enhance existing solutions by improving quality, performance, and modularity of current components.
- Conducting in-depth research, collaborating with the Research Team to explore new blockchain technologies relevant to interoperability.
- Driving proof-of-concept implementations to validate the feasibility and usability of diverse solutions.
- Participating in pivotal architectural and design decisions to formulate a robust bridging solution for disparate network types.
- Supporting developers during development cycles, based on thorough research interventions.
[Required Proficiencies]
- Minimum of 2 years engaging with blockchain technologies as a developer, coupled with a total of 3 years in Software Engineering.
- Proficiency in crafting zkSNARK circuits using frameworks like Halo2, Plonky2, and more.
- Extensive practical experience with the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) and distributed systems construction.
- 1-2 years of experience with Rust or parallel programming languages.
- Exceptional debugging skills with keen attention to detail and a resourceful problem-solving approach.
- Eagerness to delve into unexplored territories, conduct active research, and share considerable knowledge with the team.
- Willingness to expand your knowledge across multiple technology stacks.
[Bonus Proficiencies]
- Prior experience with interoperability projects or protocols is advantageous.
- Ability to draft research memos, design proposals, and technical specifications.
- Profound understanding of low-level blockchain protocols and concepts such as Data Availability, Rollups, and Interoperability.
- Familiarity with distributed and peer-to-peer system intricacies.
