Responsibilities

• Serve as the main liaison for financial regulatory bodies and supervisory authorities.
• Oversee regulatory inspections, audits, inquiries, and ongoing engagement with regulatory entities.
• Manage remediation efforts resulting from regulatory assessments, audits, or internal evaluations.
• Coordinate responses to regulatory requests and ensure timely submission of necessary documentation.
• Draft and upkeep regulatory submissions, such as Client Money Policies, fund flow reports, risk assessments, and other pertinent documents.
• Stay informed on regulatory developments and evaluate their effects on the organization.
• Establish and sustain compliance frameworks supporting essential payment and fiat operations.
• Conduct compliance evaluations for payment service providers, payment agents, settlement agents, and other financial collaborators.
• Conduct due diligence and risk assessments for payment-oriented business partnerships.
• Ensure adherence to cross-border payment regulations and relevant financial crime guidelines.
• Spearhead the expansion of payment licenses into new geographical regions.
• Lead the development, review, and improvement of internal compliance policies, procedures, and controls to support business expansion, all while ensuring regulatory compliance and adhering to industry best practices.
• Conduct gap analyses against regulatory prerequisites and industry norms.
• Undertake risk assessments for new partners, vendors, and strategic business associations.
• Collaborate across functions, including Legal, Risk, Operations, Product, and Business teams, to embed regulatory requirements into business processes effectively.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Over 10 years of experience in Regulatory Compliance, Regulatory Affairs, Business Compliance, or similar roles within regulated financial establishments.
• Demonstrated involvement in direct interactions with financial regulators and familiarity with diverse licensing frameworks such as PSP/EMI/MSB; expertise in crypto compliance is advantageous.
• Proven track record in managing regulatory inspections, audits, examinations, and remediation programs.
• Demonstrated capability in leading policy formulation and compliance gap analysis initiatives.
• Experience in guiding new licensure opportunities.
• Knowledge of cryptocurrency, digital asset, or virtual asset service provider environments.
• Familiarity with regulatory environments in the Middle East or Southeast Asia.
• Previous experience as a Compliance Officer or Regulatory Affairs professional in chartered banks, payment institutions, securities firms, or regulated financial services entities.
• Strong communication skills for regulatory matters and stakeholder management.
• Excellent business acumen, particularly in Payments/Fintech sectors.
• Capability to act as the organization's primary representative in regulatory interactions.
• Proficiency in analytical tasks, drafting policies, and risk assessment.
• Ability to excel in a rapid-paced, highly regulated environment.
• Resilient, detail-oriented, and adept at managing multiple priorities under pressure.
