Business Development & Partnerships Director of Asia
We are seeking a Business Development & Partnerships Director of Asia to drive the expansion of our business in the region. This role requires a deep understanding of both traditional finance and digital assets in the Asian financial services markets. You will be responsible for building new business opportunities and growing our existing operations in Asia.
As a Director, you will oversee opportunities from start to finish and develop your own strategic growth plan, while receiving guidance and support from our team. With our exceptional liquidity products, strong partnerships with prominent blockchain projects, and a pipeline full of growth opportunities, you will have the resources necessary to succeed. At Wintermute, we prioritize professionalism without the burden of corporate bureaucracy and legacy processes.
Responsibilities:
- Expand our institutional OTC business in Asia including developing and executing growth plans for Asia banks, asset managers, and funds.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to launch new products, gather customer feedback, and plan product launches.
- Deepen and build relationships with high-profile crypto projects, local VCs, and important ecosystem players to grow our crypto project liquidity provision business.
- Cultivate strategic partnerships with exchanges, custodians, lenders, and other infrastructure providers.
- Drive brand awareness in key Asian markets such as Singapore, Hong Kong, S. Korea, Japan, South-East Asia, and Australia through collaboration with various cross-functional teams.
- Execute a structured business development process and work with teams to enhance operational efficiency.
- Stay informed about key launches and news in the crypto ecosystem, actively seeking cooperation and business development opportunities.
Hard Skills Requirements:
- Experience in both traditional financial services and digital assets from high-performing teams and institutions.
- Proven experience with OTC spot and derivatives products, particularly options.
- Background in business development, partnerships, or client-facing roles within the financial services industry.
- Track record of delivering business results, with the ability to discuss achievement and quota numbers.
- In-depth understanding of important Asian markets, including familiarity with Asian and Western business practices.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to provide educational information and engage counterparties effectively.
- Strong trading or cryptocurrency knowledge is a significant advantage, with a willingness to understand blockchain technologies, algorithmic trading, and liquidity provision.
- Fluency in Mandarin or other major Asian languages is an advantage.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
