Business Development Associate

We are currently seeking a Business Development Associate to help expand our OTC business to new heights. We are looking for someone who has knowledge or a deep interest in the crypto market and is excited to make a significant impact in Wintermute.

In this role, you will be responsible for acquiring new counterparties and partners globally, as well as growing our existing business. You will take ownership of specific opportunities in a designated market and/or product, creating a strategic growth plan for them with guidance from the local and UK management teams. We have a reputation for offering top-quality liquidity products, working with prominent blockchain projects, and maintaining strong relationships with counterparties. There are ample growth opportunities and no bureaucratic obstacles, allowing for the highest standards of professionalism.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Growing the OTC business in your market, including acquiring new counterparties, developing relationships, collaborating with developer teams, and executing trades
• Expanding the crypto liquidity provision business by strengthening relationships with existing crypto projects and acquiring new ones
• Building new relationships with high-profile crypto projects, crypto VCs, institutional investors, miners, and other entities in the crypto ecosystem, continually advancing these relationships
• Working with cross-functional teams to raise brand awareness in the key markets under your responsibility
• Enhancing existing relationships with exchanges worldwide
• Proactively identifying cooperation and business development opportunities through keeping track of key launches and news in the crypto ecosystem

Required hard skills for this role include:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field such as Business, Economics, or Finance
• Preferably a top-tier MBA, although not mandatory
• Familiarity with Western mindsets and business practices
• Experience in the financial services or capital markets industry, with an advantage given to those with experience in crypto markets, trading companies, or hedge funds
• Proven track record in business development or a client-facing role (such as B2B sales, management consulting, or investment banking)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, focusing on being convincingly concise, precise, and attentive, while also continually following up on promises
• Demonstrated ability to deliver successful business results, including meeting quotas
• Previous experience in business development or a similar role involving institutional crypto, institutional traditional finance, or blockchain projects will be highly advantageous
• A strong inclination and curiosity to understand blockchain technologies, algorithmic trading, and liquidity provision is crucial
