This role involves managing the entire regional business, orchestrating collaborative endeavors, and outlining growth and compliance strategies for the continent. The ideal candidate will be tasked with establishing a robust business framework, exploiting market-specific opportunities, and driving sustainable growth in user interaction and transaction volume across both fiat and cryptocurrency channels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Craft regional strategies that align with global goals and implement them at a country level.
- Monitor important business metrics like user acquisition, trading volume, conversion rates, and merchant activities.
- Represent the African market in internal decision-making and global strategic planning.
- Manage the growth and governance of the P2P merchant network in the region.
- Ensure liquidity, pricing accuracy, compliance, and sustained merchant viability.
- Collaborate with global P2P teams to introduce localized features and initiatives.
- Identify and leverage local fiat on/off-ramp opportunities through PSPs, mobile wallets, and banking partners.
- Coordinate with internal teams to deliver market-ready solutions.
- Lead compliance and legal alignment efforts to address market risks and regulations.
- Support Binance's compliance roadmap while ensuring business continuity and user accessibility.
Team Management & Requirements:
- Oversee the Africa regional team, nurturing a culture of performance and collaboration.
- Mentor and guide team members to enhance their capabilities.
- Recruit and develop talent to address skill gaps, with a focus on the P2P domain.
- Requires a minimum of 12 years of experience, with at least 8 years in crypto, fintech, payments, or related sectors.
- Demonstrated proficiency in developing and executing business strategies across multiple regions.
- Comprehensive knowledge of crypto ecosystems and experience working in African markets.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration, project management, and communication skills.
- Fluent in English, with proficiency in French or regional languages as a plus.
- Possess a strong work ethic, integrity, resilience, and a fervent belief in crypto adoption within emerging markets.
