Chief Information Security Officer - Bahrain

Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute a comprehensive information security strategy for Binance Bahrain.
• Ensure alignment of IT governance and security risk management systems with global best practices and Central Bank of Bahrain regulations.
• Lead the implementation of IT security risk management for Binance Bahrain.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to execute security risk framework effectively.
• Serve as the accountable senior manager to the Central Bank of Bahrain for security matters.
• Monitor and enhance security across fund, data, and system landscapes using a three lines of defense model.
• Ensure compliance with governance, regulatory, and compliance obligations.
• Engage in internal and external audits related to technology and security.
• Drive cyber threat management, vulnerability assessments, and penetration tests within regulatory guidelines.
• Manage IT security risk for new projects and third-party integrations.
• Oversee local security team and contribute to global departmental enhancements.
• Coordinate security incident management and reporting to senior management and other relevant teams.
• Support resilience through collaboration with risk functions and other departments.
• Provide day-to-day security risk management and reporting to the Bahrain executive leadership.

Requirements:

• Proficiency in English and Arabic with current residency in Bahrain.
• Demonstrated experience in cybersecurity within a regulatory framework.
• Blend of senior management expertise and deep cybersecurity knowledge.
• History of active participation in the security community through publications or conferences.
• Proven track record in multinational environments with diverse teams.
• 10+ years of finance sector experience in security and technology compliance.
• Degree in information technology, cybersecurity, or related discipline.
• Strong leadership, communication, listening, and implementation skills.
• Practical experience implementing international data privacy and security frameworks.
• Familiarity with leading cybersecurity standards like NIST, ISO 27001/27701, CIS, PCI-DSS.
• Enthusiasm for collaboration, team excellence, and consistent pursuit of high standards.
• Knowledge of the latest cybersecurity trends and emerging threats.
• Previously engaged directly with a regulatory body and executed regulator recommendations.
• Preferably certified in ISO 27001 Lead Auditor, ISC2, ISACA, GIAC, CREST.
