Job Summary
The Chief Technology and Product Officer will be instrumental in leading the execution of business strategies and initiatives during a critical growth phase. In a high-visibility and autonomous role, this individual will be responsible for achieving target objectives, shaping business strategies, and contributing to financial analytics to ensure profitable operations, growth strategies, new ventures, and investment decisions are successful. Operating within a collaborative leadership model, the Chief Technology and Product Officer will drive growth by enhancing profitability, reducing costs, increasing efficiencies, and managing risks. Emphasizing sustainable business practices, they will drive overall organizational improvements to maximize business potential and operational efficiency. As a pivotal member of the senior executive team, the successful candidate must bring strong technical expertise in product and technology, influential leadership skills, and a proven track record of instigating change and innovation within operational contexts.
Job Responsibilities
- Product Strategy and Innovation: Lead the development and implementation of the company's product strategy in line with business objectives and industry trends. Foster innovation in product development, ensuring alignment with market trends, customer needs, and technological advancements.
- Technology Leadership: Implement best practices in software development and engineering processes across diverse product portfolios and global teams. Oversee technology roadmaps and architectures for product scalability, security, and efficiency. Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies to enhance product capabilities.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with executive leadership, product management, marketing, sales, and customer support departments to align technology initiatives with overall business goals. Drive alignment across functions to deliver integrated solutions that meet customer expectations and drive revenue growth.
- Execution and Delivery: Ensure timely and quality delivery of product releases by balancing speed, reliability, and scalability. Implement agile methodologies and project management frameworks for optimized product development. Monitor performance metrics to assess product initiatives effectively.
- Customer Focus: Advocate for customer needs throughout the product lifecycle to ensure exceptional user experiences. Integrate customer feedback and insights into product development decisions to enhance user satisfaction and loyalty.
- Team Leadership and Development: Build and mentor high-performing teams of product managers, engineers, and technical professionals. Cultivate a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning within the product and technology organization.
- Strategic Planning and Communication: Provide strategic insights on product and technology investments, partnerships, and market opportunities. Communicate technology and product strategies, milestones, and performance metrics clearly to stakeholders, including the executive team and investors.
Minimum Qualifications, Education, and Skills
Keyfactor seeks a seasoned Chief Technology and Product Officer to steer the organization through its next phase of growth and innovation. The ideal candidate must collaborate effectively with senior management, exhibit exceptional leadership in product and technology domains, and emphasize a collaborative management style while remaining open to new concepts and methodologies. Operating in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment, the Chief Technology and Product Officer must have a strong foundation in product strategy, technology leadership, and innovation to drive informed operational decisions. Analytical and decisive, they must leverage data-driven insights and strategic judgment to foster informed decision-making throughout the organization. Known for attracting and developing high-performing teams, the Chief Technology and Product Officer must lead with authority and inclusivity, creating a culture of trust, innovation, and personal impact.
Ideal Experience:
- Product and Technology Leadership: Possess over 15 years of progressive experience in product management, technology leadership, or related roles within high-growth environments. Prior experience in senior software engineering, chief software architect, chief product officer, or similar roles is preferred.
- Industry Expertise: Demonstrated success in driving growth and innovation in the technology sector, particularly in enterprise software. Experience in cybersecurity is advantageous.
- Global Leadership: Proficient in managing multiple product groups and technology teams across global markets, with a sound understanding of managing global teams and organizations.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Skilled in managing relationships with stakeholders, including board members, investors, and external partners. Effectively communicate strategic vision and performance metrics to all stakeholders.
- Education and Credentials: Strong educational background with an undergraduate degree in computer science, engineering, or business administration. Advanced degrees such as an MBA or technical certifications are preferred.
Level of Authority
The "C-Level" denotes executive positions reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer and holds pivotal roles in setting organizational direction, strategy, and culture.
Travel Requirements
Up to 40% travel may be required for this role.
