Responsibilities
As a Cloud Application Security Engineer, you will be tasked with ensuring that all cloud environments and software developed by the engineering teams meet the organization's security protocols and safeguard information. This role involves a hands-on approach as needed, collaboration with engineers, and the establishment of robust security processes to enhance the organization's overall security standards.
Key Duties
- Aid engineering teams in establishing secure pipelines and ensuring the security of applications and cloud environments.
- Develop, support, and optimize tools used by engineering teams to maintain security in applications and cloud environments.
- Identify potential vulnerabilities, highlight areas necessitating improvements, and assist team leaders in addressing issues related to security.
- Provide support to engineering teams in conducting cloud and application security reviews, threat modeling, and addressing security concerns promptly.
- Collaborate on security projects to ensure timely execution.
- Integrate security measures into the systems development life cycle to embed security practices in all processes.
- Contribute to the development of security policies, standards, procedures, and guidelines.
Requirements
Mandatory Skills
- Proficient in English with exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Solid background in Development, DevOps, or Engineering, with proficiency in Python.
- Experience with cloud technologies, particularly AWS and Azure.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab) and Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform).
- Understanding of foundational infrastructure elements such as cloud computing, storage, DNS, and networking.
- Capable of code debugging, collaborating with engineers, scripting solutions, and driving automation.
- Knowledge of secure software development practices, including threat modeling, secure design principles, secure coding, and application security automation.
Desired
- Security certifications like GCLD, GCPN, GPCS, GCSA, GWEB, CCSP, CISSP, or CISM.
- Candidates with OSCP certification will be given strong consideration.
Non-Technical Skills
- Effective communication of technical matters to both technical and non-technical audiences.
